Sartoria Tofani · Naples · Est. 1954

Three generations. One standard.

A craft can be inherited.
Mastery cannot.

Since 1954, the Tofani family has passed tailoring from one generation to the next—not as a business formula, but as a discipline learned at the cutting table, with needle, cloth and time.

1954

It started with an apprenticeship.

In 1954, Aristide Tofani opened his sartoria in Naples.

Before becoming a master himself, he learned the craft through apprenticeship, including under Vincenzo Attolini, one of the defining names of Neapolitan tailoring.

What he built was never meant to be a factory.

The ambition was simpler—and considerably harder:

To become a better tailor.

Davide Tofani

The hand remembers what books cannot teach.

Davide Tofani grew up inside the workshop.

He learned by watching his father. Then by doing. Then by repeating the same movements until they became instinct.

Decades later, the principle remains unchanged.

Every garment is still judged by the same standard:

How it fits the person standing in front of the tailor.

A pattern can be copied.
Experience cannot.

Continuity

The next generation is not starting from zero.

Every generation begins with an advantage the previous one had to earn.

Knowledge accumulated over decades.

Mistakes already made.

Techniques refined.

An eye trained to recognise what is almost right—and what is not.

The future of Sartoria Tofani is not about repeating the past.
It is about carrying its standards forward.

The work
